Are you depressed? Know it

Feeling depressed? Why? There can be a number of reasons behind this bitter truth or enormous of sadness. But do we exactly know what depression is? Read more to know.

Depression is a CURABLE disease in which the person feels sad and the person can have loss of interest. Depression does not consider age or gender. There can be a teenager who can feel depressed having a feeling of failure and even, there can be an elderly person who can feel depressed having a feeling of worthlessness.

As I said, there can be a number of reasons which can cause depression. It can be due to personal issues or even professional issues. If anyone, you feel, is depressed near you then you can check with the symptoms, which I will mention in the blog further.

There can be some particular symptoms through which you can check who is depressed or who is just sad. Some of them are mentioned below:

  • The person can have feeling of continuous sadness and emptiness;
  • The person can have feeling of helplessness and worthlessness;
  • The person does not have any interest in anything;
  • There can be abnormal eating (can reflect weight gain or weight loss);
  • There can be changes in sleeping patterns (can sleep a lot or be insomnia);
  • The person can feel frustrated, always angry, restlessness in the body or irritability;
  • There can be lack of energy in the person;
  • There person will not be able to concentrate on anything;
  • Even, they can have thoughts of death or SUICIDE.

These are some symptoms which can be checked when someone is feeling depressed. But you know this is curable and before penetrating deep into this black hole, the person can prevent herself or himself from this. Depression gives some normal signs which if one identifies then he or she can cure it in its initial stage.

Anti-depressants are the medicines which is said to cure this. But you know what, it makes you dependable. If you are taking these pills then you are dependent on the medicines for your mood, for your interest or even for your life. How long will you survive like this? Have anyone thought this? Anti-depressants are like any other medicines and no one likes to rely on medicines for their life. It is good to take regular medicines but what if you cure this in the start?

I am not saying it is bad to go to a psychiatrist or therapist but in the initial stages it is important to identify the problem and cure it. But it is best to visit a therapist if it goes for long or even if there are thoughts of suicide. These medicines do work but the thing which works the most is your willingness to get cured.

There are some solutions which I am mentioning below which anyone can use in order to either prevent or cure his or her sadness or even initial stage depression:

  • Exercise: Make yourself move your butt out of your bed and motivate to workout. You can do any type of exercise either dances, aerobics, weight training or even cardio. Anything will work out.
  • Eat well: While you feel sad or depressed, you should treat yourself well. You should eat healthy, green veggies and moreover a lot of fresh fruits.
  • Observe and identify: In order to cure this, you should observe your thoughts and identify the troubles which are causing you feel worthless, restlessness and emptiness.
  • Attract good vibes: When you are going through such tough times, it is important to think good, do good and feel good. In simpler words, you should attract good vibes to feel well from within.
  • Express yourself: You should express yourself to others. If not verbally, you can express yourself through your activities like you can exercise your imagination through dancing.
  • Need a routine: You should get in a routine. To feel good from within, you should prepare a proper routine and follow it sincerely.
  • Get enough sleep: In this tough time, you should get enough sleep, neither excessive nor less. In such a way, you can relax your mind which thinks a lot in such a situation and mostly, attracts negative thoughts.
  • Start something new: It is important to distract your mind from the negative. For that, you should command your mind to learn something new. Yes! This helps a lot.
  • Visit a therapist: If you follow this, you will feel a lot better. But it is still lot better to see a therapist.
